Usage Policies

Purpose

The Group Study rooms are intended to be a place that Pierce students can work and study together for classes. They are not for individual study, socializing, interviewing, zooming, or formal tutoring and may not be used by staff, or faculty. 

Who can use and reserve the group study rooms?

Current Pierce College students

How long can I use the room for?

  • Students can reserve up to four half-hour blocks per day (2 hours total). 
  • Since the rooms are in heavy demand, each group may book a maximum of 2 hours per day.
  • Reservations can be made up to two weeks in advance.
  • If your group is more than 15 minutes late, your reservation may be cancelled.

How do I make a reservation?

Do I need to check out a key for the room?

No. Go directly to your study room at the time of your reservation.

Room Rules

  • Reservations have priority. If you are using a room without having a valid registration, you must leave when asked by a group with a valid registration
  • Lights must remain on at all times
  • Doors must remain unlocked at all times
  • Talk quietly as the rooms are not sound-proof
  • Do not leave personal items unattended in the room
  • Do not move the air purifier or turn it off
  • Absolutely no food and drinks must have lids. You will be asked to leave the room if found eating. Groups that want to eat while studying should use the tables inside the food court.

Please share these rooms in the spirit of cooperation. If a problem arises, contact someone at the Reference or Circulation desk.

Students not abiding by the Usage Policies may be asked to leave and/or may lose booking privileges.
