PIERCE COLLEGE INSTITUTIONAL LEARNING OUTCOMES
Pierce College's Institutional Learning Outcomes indicate that students will demonstrate proficiency in seven areas, including:

RESEARCH AND INFORMATION LITERACY
The student will demonstrate proficiency in modes of inquiry specific to the discipline of study and discernment of relevant and appropriate sources of information.

CSU GE BREADTH CERTIFICATION Certificate of Achievement  includes "Research and Information Literacy"
This general education certificate of achievement is awarded to students who receive full certification of the CSU GE Breadth Certification Plan. PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES Upon completion of this program, students will:
"...Research and Information Literacy: The student will demonstrate proficiency in modes of inquiry specific to the discipline of study and discernment of relevant and appropriate sources of information."

IGETC Certificate of Achievement (STATE CODE 18604) This general education certificate of achievement is awarded to students who receive full certification of the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC).

General Studies with an Area of Emphasis Associate of Arts Degree
PROGRAM INFORMATION This degree provides an opportunity for students to earn an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in a comprehensive area of study and is intended for the student who may not be planning to transfer to a university. TRANSFER STUDENTS
