Join a waitlist

If there are no available copies of a digital book, you will have the option of joining a waitlist to use the book once it is available. Below are instructions for joining a waitlist.

Step 1: View the availability

Once you've found the digital book you need, you will log in to view the availability. The previous page (Access) showed a book that was currently available to use. If a book is already in use by the number of available users, a "user limit reached" message will display. Select the link, Digital Book, to add your name to the waitlist for the book.

Step 2: Join the waitlist

A waitlist screen will display, which will inform you how many other users are on the waitlist. Click the linked text, "Join the waitlist" to add your name.

Step 3: View the confirmation

You will see a confirmation screen. Please note the email address that waitlist notifications will be sent to.

You will also receive an email confirmation that your name has been added to the waitlist.

Access a book from a waitlist

When you are on a waitlist for a digital book, you will receive a notification once the book is available. You will have 15 minutes to access the book before the next person on the waitlist is notified. Once you access the book, you will have four hours to use it. Here are what the notifications look like, with a few tips to access the book.

Waitlist: It's your turn!

The waitlist notification email will include a link to view the resource that you've requested.

When you click this link, it will take you to a page prompting you to sign in. After logging in the digital resource will open.

Important Note: Sometimes the sign-in page or email link will not open properly. If this happens, proceed to OneSearch, view the title and log in. You should be able to access the digital resource without problems.
