Learn how to find books, articles, and other resources that can help you research a career field or college.

Career & College Skills

The Pierce Library subscribes to over 70 databases, including the 4 college resource databases listed below.

You can use all of them for free, BUT they do not work like Google!

In some databases, you can browse to information about a college or major; in others, you will have to type in a search.

TIP! When searching, add in a keyword (or two) and be sure to use quotations around phrases ("computer science").

Want more search tips? See our Search Techniques guide.

PrepSTEP, one of the Pierce Library databases, includes College Success Skills - tutorials & practice sets; organizational strategies, as well as Classroom Success Skills - reading, note taking strategies, and more.
