Use the search box to type in the title of a book, the author, or some keywords of the subject you are researching.

Using the Book Catalog to Locate Books

Many disciplines offer in-depth analysis of gender and sexuality related issues within the context of the subject area.  To locate books on gender studies and sexuality, you will need to use the online book catalog.

  • You can search for books by their title or author, or can do a keyword search to find books about a given topic.  Some possible keywords searches include:
    • femininity or feminism
    • gay legal rights
    • gender and power
    • gender and religion
    • gender history
    • gender politics
    • masculinity
    • queer
    • same-sex marriage
    • sexual behavior
    • sexuality
    • transgender
    • women and military
    • women and politics
    • women's rights
  • Write down the call number and location of the books you are interested in. The call number and location will be listed at the bottom of the item information screen under Holdings. Go find the book in the library's stacks or reference shelves. 
  • Bring any books you want to check out to the Circulation Desk. Books from the stacks can be checked out for 28 days. Reference books cannot leave the library, although you may photocopy pages from them.
