This Guide will show you where to look for useful writing, researching & composition information.

Search the Pierce Library Catalog

Use the Pierce Library Catalog (type in search box) to find books on a topic, or a specific book by author and/or title.

Topic searching:

  1. Start with a keyword search.
  2. Look for useful book titles.
  3. Write down the call number and location, or take a photo of the page with the call number and location.
  4. Find the book on the library's book shelves (stacks), or on reference shelves, or at the Circulation Desk (reserve books).
  5. Bring any books you want to check out to the Circulation Desk. 
  6. Books from the stacks can be checked out for 28 days.
  7. You may use Reserve books in the Library for 2 hours.
  8. For e-books, click on the link to read the book online.
  9. Reference books cannot leave the library, but you may photocopy pages or take a picture with your phone.
